Bad Breath


Bad breath is a very common condition. Everyone suffers from occasional bad breath (Halitosis). There are four easy home remedies that will solve the issue for most people:

  1. Drink the recommended daily amount of water. That’s 4L for males and 3L for females. One of the main causes of bad breath is dehydration.
  2. Use a tongue cleaner. The majority of the bacteria which cause bad breathe live on back part of your tongue. We offer free samples at Peak Dental. Don’t scrape too hard or you can lose your taste buds over time.
  3. Get a moisturizing mouthwash. Select a mouthwash that will help keep the mouth hydrated (Biotene or Smartmouth for example). Any mouthwash with alcohol will dry out your mouth and reinforce bad breath problems.
  4. Maintain proper dental hygiene. Brushing and flossing regularly helps prevent tooth decay and gum disease, but also helps prevent halitosis.
